Dealer-Only Fuel Tank for 5th Gen?!

I'm looking at buying a 1990 GT, and the tank needs patching (which, to me, means replacing) for a safety. I cannot find an aftermarket tank anywhere. Has anyone managed to find such a beast? I'd rather not shell-out $700 at the dealer, or order from a wrecker half-way across the continent.

This is what i did when my gas tank started leaking.I bought another one from the junkyard, i brought it to a place that renewed it.Gas tank from a junkyard was $150 and to renew it was $150.That's only $300 compared to how much the dealership would charge you which is $800+.Buy the oem gas strap online. The 2 gas straps i bought online is the cost of one from the dealership. The dealership wants $120 for one.I bought 2 online for $110 including shipping.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. Now I know how much I can expect to pay for pre-safety prep.
