USA celica gas tank

I have a 1988 gt convertable with a bad gas tank. Toyota does not have any and every place on the internet that sell tanks says no also. Whats a guy to do?

Have you tried an auto salvage yard? They should be able to tell you what years/models of car used the same tank and have a parts finder setup to allow checking with other yards across the country.

Find the same generation celica in a junk yard, buy the gas tank and get it renewed.

IIRC, the 6th Gen (1994-1999) Celica uses the same gas tank. Ask your local dealer to cross-reference the part numbers

What kind of dealership claims Toyota "doesn't have any"? Are they claiming that there are no appropriate tanks in all of North America? I've had my neighbourhood dealer order oddball parts before, and they can always find them--I've heard from others on TN forums that dealers will even order from Japan if they have to.

If Toyota really is yanking you around like that, check www.car-part.com and/or visit the local scrap yards. You'll find one.

No other gas tank will fit your All-Trac. This topic has been covered at www.alltrac.net
Do a search or post there but get yourself over there pronto. Most of the All-Trac guys hang out there and it's a great resource for parts. Some of the guys have suggested using fuel cells but most just have their OEM tanks refinished.
