just got 77 celica and electro sensor light stays on. can anyone tell me why?
what is it for?

That's probably your battery sensor. Find that wire (next to your battery) and ground it.
Otherwise, just ignore it.

The Electro Sensor Panel has a few different warnings that it tries to tell you.

Could be
- worn brake pads,
- pressure difference between front and rear brake circuits
- low engine oil level
- low coolant level
- low battery fluid level
- low window washer level

Push the button on the ESP panel and it should tell you which.
