Oil usage normal??

Just bought a 95 Celica about 2 months ago. It is a 95 with 145,000 miles on it. Pretty happy with it except it seems to be using oil. I recently had the oil changed and found it was down 1 quart after 1,500 miles. Is this normal consumption? It does not seem to smoke. No obvious puffing at start up. And no obvious leaks. I had the engine steam cleaned so I can better see if there is a leak somewhere.

That's a bit on the high side.
My 1992 celica st used 1 qt for every 3000 miles.
