Rode in a 3SGTE'd 5th

Met up with Speedy2k yesterday and went for a boot in his 3SGTE swapped 5th gen. The conversion is done but there's a few unrelated bugs to work out but the car pulls like a champ. He was breaking traction in 3rd (he attributed it to worn rubber but I'm thinking there's enough torque there to do it even with fresh tires.) Its sitting stock right now except for a downpipe and boost controller but with a few upgrades it's gonna be mean as fuck. He said that it was pretty straightforward with the front cut and took a week from start to finish in his underground parking garage.

Nice work Sergey, props to you.

notes:

- The alltrac driveshafts won't work with the E153. It is possible to use hybrid driveshafts of the alltrac and GT/GTS axles.
- You'll need to cut a hole in the firewall for the harness to feed through, do it before you drop in the motor to save some trouble.
- The stock exhaust will bolt up to a downpipe until you can sort it out.
- The clip makes life easier all around.
- The A/C is gonna take some work to make it work, wiring mostly.
- Alltrac brakes will work on the 5th, bigger diameter rotors are nice.

A lot of 6th genners are still doing the 3s motor swap from the 185's versus the 205's for the prime reason being availability of spare parts! (at least that is what i think you asked..cus i've got no clue for the st206's...205's i know...204's i know....206's.... )

Yeah man, the GT4 was the ST205. Doing a full on alltrac conversion would be prohibitively expensive and not very practical, but i do know of a thrashed alltrac for 2000 if you're interested. And yeah, the motor came from an ST185 clip.

the 6thgens stay away from the 205 swap because of the electrical, its just more of a pain to to, and 185 engines are easier.
