Newer powerplants

Has anyone tried transplanting any of the newer powerplants (2AZ-FE, 2GR-FE, etc.) into a 5th gen Celica? I own a 2008 Rav4 with the 2GR, and that is a fun drive, and I can only imagine how that would scream in my '90 GT. That would have to be a wiring and plumbing nightmare, though. Any thoughts?

Come on, that's a tired answer. In stock trim, the 3sgte does give up 1.5L to the 2GRFE, but they also give up horsepower, potential, and reliability. Besides, 3sgte has been done to death.

I was thinking about doing to swap with my alltrac. But for the money you can build up a 3s-gte to be reliable.

a 2gr-fe is hard to find and will probably cost around $4000

I would like to see this done. I know people have swapped other v6's into the celica.

I hope these links help, goes into transmission compatibilty.

Let me know how it goes. I would love to do this swap myself. If only i could keep 4 wheel drive!

Oh, I know it would be prohibitively expensive, so it would be something whre I gathered parts for awhile. I like the 3sgte, and respect its potential, I just love the 2GR-FE in my '08 Rav4. I think I might keep my eyes open for a wrecked AWD 2GR-FE Rav, if I'm going to spend the money.

Thanks for those links, though. That 1UZ was cool.
