Australia 1987 celica power window problems

hey ive got a 1987 celica and the passenger side window refuses to go up.
up until 2 days ago the driver side could control the passenger side up and down but now is unable to control it at all, n the passenger side will only control it going down.

ive checked the motor (which works fine) and the switch, bought a replacement switch (which still didnt work) and power seems to be going through to the window until it hits the switch.

im stumped n would like to kno if anyone else has any ideas or if theyve encountered this problem too.

cheers

Could the replacement switch also be faulty?
