USA 5mge swap into a 77 gt

I came across a 77 gt and I was wondering if there were any walkthroughs on how to swap the 5mge/7mge into the car. Carb to F.I would be the tough part with wiring and fuel. I know the basic motor swap procedure but has anyone done it? How hard is the ECU wiring and Fuel system?

ECU isn't too hard.
Just a case of double checking the connections against wiring diagrams of the 77 and the donor car.

Likewise for the fuel system.
You need to use a high pressure pump and to plumb in a surge tank somewhere.

Now for the bad news.
The 5M-GE will add too much weight in front of the front wheels.
It doesn't weigh that much more than the 4 cylinder but all the extra weight goes at the front.
That will hurt handling and make it an absolute pig going around corners.
It really only works if you are shift the firewall back a few inches - not a trivial job.

When Toyota introduced the Supra (the model year after yours) the distance between front wheels and the door was made 3" longer in the Supra compared to the Celica.
