Vinyl Dye

I was planning on dying my dashboard BLACK with some vinyl dye

http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Prod...ductid=D%20245

Has anyone used anything like this?

Are there any adverse effects, such as the windows getting slimy because of the off-gassing of the phthalate plasticizers?

Phthalates are added to hard plastics added to make them soft and flexible---like the vinyl on your dash--as opposed to the hard plastic on the console for example.

The off gassing of the phtalates can cause an oily film to appear on the inside windshield...did anyone have this happen with this sort of dye?
