'79 Celica carb replacement - Weber Conversion or FI

Hey all.
I have a 1979 Celica (20R) whose carb is almost shot. During rebuild I found internal deterioration, so it is time to make a bigger switch. I am trying to weigh what it takes to convert to a Weber or to FI. If anyone has experience doing either I would be grateful for some wisdom before I dive into uncharted waters. Thanks for your time and help. Toyotanation has been a real joy to find.
Gratefully,
wardriod

Simplest solution? Buy a 22R adapter plate from LC Engineering (or equivalent if you can find one) for ~$25 and bolt on a 22R carb. It makes a huge difference in performance.
