boy to the rescue

your car is possessed

did you start off by checking to see that the fuses are good? was your car recently flooded?

i would try swapping the gauge with someone with the same car to see that it works

maybe some of your wires have melted and are touching. i'd have a technician look at it cause they will be able to identify where your problem is. sounds like damaged electrical components.

It might be possessed, by a rodent. Has it been sitting or stored in an old garage? Inspect in the engine bay and under the dash for any signs that something might have been chewing on stuff.

Make sure you have a good ground from the battery to the body of the car. I've seen lots of gauges act funny when they're not properly gounded. Exact same thing happened to a friend of mine's truck. All the gauges and electrical things went screwy, when looking under the hood one day I noticed that someone cut the ground from the battery to the body, fixed that and everything was better. Just a thought.

Conejo Brothers located at NW57 Ave & W Flager does electrical work. I don't know if they are still located there, but I would recommend them. They fixed a electrical problem that I had with my S-10. Good luck!

Eric.
