gen 7 Engine swap?

I'm wanting to kick up my '05 GT for circuit racing, and I know that I'm going to need a better engine to do it. What do you suggest I look at getting? I don't know a lot about Toyota's performance engines as I've mostly worked with big-block V8s and V6s before. I'm thinking that I'll go with a 2ZZ-GE plus trans from a gen 7 GT-S (probably 2003 or later to avoid the lift bolt TSB issue). I'll start with a CAI, but I'd like to eventually blow it with a supercharger. I figure that I'll need a new ECU and all the suspension help that I can get my hands on to keep it rigid, but I haven't taken the time to figure out the specifics yet.

What I'd like to know is, what are the best brands to look at? Am I right in thinking that the 2ZZ is about the best engine for what I'm looking at doing? I know that the 3S-GTE is really popular on these forums, so what are the specific benefits of it over a blown 2ZZ?

On a related note, who makes over-sized pads and rotors that I could add now? I'm getting 17" Sport Max Type 008s in the next few weeks and I want to change those at the same time.

The 2ZZ-GE would be good enough when turbo/supercharged for what your doing plus it's lighter, but if you looking at which engine has the most potential then the 3S-GTE is your bet. The 3S-GTE from stock can handle much more power plus when modify is one the most powerful 4 cylinder built. If money is not an issue, then getting a either a GEN 2or GEN 3 3S-GTE (preferably the GEN3) would be your best bet. The Castrol Supra uses a modify 3S-GTE due to being lighter then a 2JZ but offers power levels close to it.
