Question '04 Celica--How do I remove the shift boot?

After I unscrew the shift knob, how do I remove the plate that covers the shift boot?

Just pull it off?

On my '05 i just push it down on the edges until it pops loose and then twist it to get it out of the opening. I don't know if your boot is the same, but mine's made of stitched vinyl.

Ah, I see, I understand, thanks very much.

After I unsnap the boot like you said, do you know if it is then easy to remove the boot completely with the knob removed?

Yeah, it just slides up the shift lever. The knob is the only thing holding it on.
