After I unscrew the shift knob, how do I remove the plate that covers the shift boot? Just pull it off?

I don't know if your boot is the same, but mine's made of stitched vinyl.

After I unsnap the boot like you said, do you know if it is then easy to remove the boot completely with the knob removed?
