Canada Door Speakers

Hey Guys,

I have a 95' celica GTS, that has 3 speakers on each door, the tweeters, mids, and lows, I recently installed a deck into the car and noticed that once i was done my install, only my tweeters and mid's were working. I was wondering, does anyone know the colour code for the (+) & (-) wires for the low's?

If you used all the connection from the factory side of your wiring harness, chances are it has a passive crossover somewhere behind the door panel. It's rare that a crossover goes out, coils rarely go bad, so the woofers might be blown.

Best way to be sure is to rip out the door panel, remove the speaker and look at the wires. You can test if a speaker is working by connecting the speaker terminals to a 1.5V battery, it won't hurt it. It should make a sound, if not then your speaker is blown.

Btw, the woofer might have it's own powered amplifier which could complicate your whole installation.

www.crutchfield.com very helpful, however if you didn't buy anything from them, they might tell you to take a hike. Nothing is free.

well the new deck only asked me to connect the front L&R and rear L&R, so i did that, and they sound perfectly fine. I just want the LOW to come into effect. yea I had to disconnect the plug going into the factory amp that powered the speakers, there were plugs goin into the factory amp, then two other plugs, one goin somewhere and the other plugged into the factory stereo.
