Newbie Headlight Help Please!

Hello!

I'm helping my brother replace a headlight on his 1992 Celica GS .

It failed the state inspection in MO because there is water accumulating in the headlamp glass and it must be replaced.

The mechanic he took it to said they will not work on it because you have to remove the bumper to replace the headlight? ? ? What the heck?

Could someone give me some additional information on this or post a link up about this?

I did search these forums but I could not find anything.

Thanks so much for the help, it is sincerely appreciated.

Use a drill with a tiny drill bit on the lower corners of the assembly. The water will drain out and the condensation will dry up.

Eric.

That's a good idea. I am wondering if it will still pass inspection. Who knows. Missouri is so picky. I'll suggest this. Thanks.

Pop the light up. Remove the plastic cover around the light. Remove the steel around the light and take it out.

Get another mechanic.

Get another mechanic . . . . !!! That's what I told my brother.

Thanks again for the input. I asked this question without even having looked at it yet (He lives about an hour away from me). Thanks !!!!

^^^ what pineapple said ^^^ it's about as easy as it gets, no need for a mechanic, just a screwdriver. Remove trim, remove bracket, remove light, replace with new light, reverse procedure....done.
