2000 celica GTS trans issue. Does not shift into fourth gear or seems to be in O/D

I am about to buy this 2000 celica GTS 90,000 miles but there is an issue with transmission. Does not shift into fourth gear or seems to be in over-drive. Is this something serious or minor problem. Pls advice. Thanks in advance.

Hmm.... you shouldn't buy a car w/ tranny problems unless you have the cash to fix it. I got my 2000 gt-s in 2003 from Toyota, and the synchronizers in the gears were off, so the entire tranny and clutch had to be replaced. I've heard of a few people w/ this year that have had tranny problems. It's an awesome car, but just be careful before you buy. Maybe bring her into your own mechanic before you consider handing over the cash. Also, don't forget about CarFax and all that 2. Hope this helps! Good luck.
