Gen5 90 celica st engine swap

hey does anyone know what types of engines i could put in my 90 celica st... im trying to give it more power and hope to one day have a little tuner car...
also if it would be possible to get a 6 speed... i have heard that an audi 3.0 or 3.2 would fit pretty easy...

Dont put a 6 cylinder in your ST... the rest of your car will explode, the ST was a family car, the GT was a sporty car, but you need to do more work to put in a faster motor becuase your passenger side mount is right behind the shock tower, and the GT is right on it, and we can put in the 3SGTE, 5SFE, 3SGE, 1MZFE, 3VZFE, all kinds of crap, but your car wasnt designed to take a lot of power, but i say go for the 3SGTE, its the easiest swap for celicas...

Any All-trac front clip would work, but personally i would get the MR2 3SGTE because they are rear wheel (I believe) and the motor is in the back so its just like the FWD setup, and the motor has the same output, BUT is smaller

If you go for the All-trac front clip and do your swap, here is a list of turbo stuff you can do with it and where, because the stock CT20B sucks.....
http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/turbo.html

But for the MR2 there is a whole different world, and the parts are more available.

BS
What? The rest of the car will explode? Where did you get that from?

The 3sgte is NOT the easiest swap for his ST.
Do your homework before recommend others.
Try 4age 20V.

That even bigger pile of BS.

They are the same size.
And CT20B does not suck.
It's the best turbo for the car in the original CT family.

Gen5 problems

ok i have another question... my car is not running- meaning that it will turn over, but not start... well it will start on occasion but it will barely run, even if i open the throttle all the way... i have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, alternator, battery, harmonic balancer and put injector cleaner in it... it was originally running really shitty, bogging down until the rpms got up to about 3500 or 4000 and than picking up... i have tried everything that i can and it still wont run... i think either it is slightly out of time or the sparks arent gapped enough cause i just put them in without gapping them... HELP ME PLEASE!!! i need it so i can get to school... i still have the 4a-fe in it and the standard 5 speed manual...

Nop, new coil is about $100. You can try to get one from junkyard.

exploding as in sarcasm, you guys are so up tight about your little car forums, jeez, i talk on here like i do in real life, with sarcasm, and against people like you! And the 4AGE is a CRAPPY motor...

BTW: the CT20B does suck, why do you think they are everywhere? BECAUSE EVERYONE DITCHES THEM FOR A REAL TURBO! Which reminds me, i might have one for sale soon because im going to put a REAL turbo on my race car....

Try this, open the diagnostic connector in the engine bay and bridge te and e1 (you know how to scan for codes right?)

Then start the car. The check engine light should be blinking either a fault code or just blink solid. Either way the car should start in safe mode.

If not you are looking for a mechanical problem, just keep trying bro
