Yes. When you do the swap, keep all the electrical from the 3S-FE. Reuse everything with a wire from the 3S. All you need from the 5S is the block and head. All at least change all the seals, timing belt and water pump while the engine is out.

If you talking about the ST engine in the 90-93 Celica ST then it's a 4A-FE not a 3S-FE. The 5S-FE came in the 90+ Celica GT/GT-S while the 3S-FE was in the 87-89 Celica ST/GT the 86 ST uses the 2S-E.
