1990 Celica ST Acceleration Issues when cold
My '90 Celica ST (4AFE) will not accelerate when it is cold without hesitation. Even flooring the pedal does nothing, it just hangs there. Pressing the gas pedal a few times sometime overcomes the problem. It was hanging at about 3000 RPM and will surge to around 4000 and shift. When it warms up and the coolant gauge is a little under midway (where it stays when warm) it runs well. I have read some other comments about a MAP sensor problem, my Haynes manual describes something as a "Vacuum sensor" which seems to have a similar description. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.
