I did a search on the forums, and I found some information out... so i post this knowing that I am prolly gonna get grief.. but w/e im a car noob and half the answers are greek to me...
I have a 1990 Toyota Celica GTS Coup. Its stock, 2wd Auto Transmission. We had a snow storm here a couple days ago and like an idiot, I just had to go see a movie and drive in the blizzard. Well during the drive from Everett to Lynnwood (like 4 miles) my O/D Light started to blink, and I lost some responsiveness with the vehical. It kina feels like the ol gal lost her will to gallop. I think its skipping 2nd gear, but if i floor it with o/d on (light still blinking) it will downshift and give me some go, but as soon as acceleratior is depressed, shes looses power. So I'm driving around and commuting 30 miles to work with O/D off. Any one know if this is a costly repair.. I don't know how to read codes etc.. I think its a cylanoid or something (from what i did understand from other postings) like that but I don't have a clue on how hard that is to replace.. anyone who's had the same problem or knows of it, any suggestions would be nice. let the flames begin.
