89 Celica ST-Replacing Back Glass-Help Please

Hello all - Yep, I'm one of those new members posting so bear with me.
I'm in the military currently deployed overseas and this past week my wife told me that some morons drove through our neighborhood with a BB gun and shot out a bunch of car windows. The back glass of my Celica was one of the cars they got. So, keeping this in mind with my questions....remember that until I get home in a couple weeks I can't see what I'm talking about other than my memory.
I've replaced a couple car front windshields years ago with friends so I remember somewhat the steps we did for those situations, but from doing some research on the internet on my Celica, I "think" that in the case of the back glass there is some kind of rubber gasket that fits between the opening frame and the glass? So here's some questions that I hope that someone can give me some help on. My Celica has 170K+ miles on it so I don't want the expense of a shop doing the work (my wife called around for me and got quotes of around $400-$500). I basically just want to find a glass at a salvage yard and put it in myself.
This is a 1989 Celica ST (not a hatchback, just a regular coupe with a trunk)
- Am I correct in thinking there is a "double U" rubber gasket that holds the glass to the frame?
- If there is a gasket can it be reused or does a new one have to be purchased?
- I don't remember any clips or anything....can anyone tell me if there are and if there is a special tool I'll need to remove/re-install them?
- Guessing I'll need a tube of windshield sealant regardless to "fill in the gaps"?
- Some websites I've found have talked about using a nylon rope inserted into the gasket channel to then pull the lip out after the glass is installed. Would this be an acceptable method of doing this?
- From searching salvage yard websites there appears to be two different defroster products built into the rear glass....one is listed as "HD" (guessing this is for heavy duty") and the other is just listed as defroster. How do I tell if my back glass had either one?

If anyone can recommend any websites or other boards I can ask about all this on or read up I'd appreciate the help. I'm going to have a bit of time off when I get home before I have to get back to work and I'm trying to research as much as I can now so that when I get home I can try to do this quickly. Being where I am right now I don't have easy phone access to the states so it's hard for me to call around and ask anyone about this.
