ok right now i own a chevy aveo (go ahead and throw rocks i don't care about it any more) and with it quickly approaching summer and temperatures exceeding 100 degrees i hate having a vehicle with no air conditioning >.<
so i found a Celica on Craig's list a 1992 GTS that has a fairly nice paint job (considering that there's some evidence that the car was keyed) i love everything about this car. except 2 things, the nascar license plate frame and that it has 207k miles on it
right now i owe about 5k on my aveo and the dealer seems to be willing to do a straight across trade of my aveo for the celica.
everything is in working order on the celica. power locks/windows/moon roof and the AC was blowing cold air as soon as it was started. only problem is that it has a noticable oil leak
so my questions are as follow...
1) How much would it cost to fix the air conditioning (worst case/ best case)
2) what kind of engine work would need to be done to keep it around for 10-15k miles before replacing the engine all together
3) how much to swap in a new engine? (jdm 3sfe or 5sfe/3s-gte)
4) what kind of insurance increases to expect
5) websites to find jdm parts
6) what kind of increase can i expect in picking up chicks over my lovely blue chevy aveo?
thank you very much for your responses
also btw maybe i should mention that a couple months ago my car had the word "c***" screw drived into the driver side doors...done 4 times over >.< and it was fixed.
