There is tons of info on swapping engines into a 5th generation Celica, the most popular by far being Toyota's 3SGTE turbo motor from the Celica AllTrac swapped into a fwd model (the ST being a great candidate, beings as, typically, they're less "optioned" and therefore usually lightest in weight, giving you more bang for your buck hp/wt wise. Here is a great link to info on a site chock full of knowledgeable 5th gen folks (actually, it's all generation celicas, but there are a lot of 5-ers there...)

This should get you started with some ideas. I'm guessing if you have to ask how hard it will be, than it will be hard..... but it's doable, as long as you have the info, tools, time, and $$$. Good luck.

Yeah I'd say go 3s, a v6 swap is fun though. You will have some grinding and welding to do to the motor mounts before the engine will happily sit in there.
