Gen5 hey new here help 5sfe died wont start

Hi I have a 1991 toyota Celica GTS 5 speed a couple weeks ago I was driving the car to a freinds house and half way there the car just died like engine stopped all together. I pulled over and tried to start the car again and it cranks real healthy but refuses to just kick over on its own and wont even hint starting. Since then I have done a couple things as such, I had the fuel pump replaced and checked it throught the diagnostic port its runs fine and fuel is flowing throught the filter just fine which was currently replaced a couple hundred or so miles ago as well. nothing changed I went ahead and replaced the ignition coil as well and nothing changed so went and got a new distributor and it still hasnt helped I checked the plug for spark and plugged it into the wire grounding it to chassis when the car is first turned over it spark once with a reddish spark and thats it no more I also changed out the ECU and battery with known to be good replacements still no difference... What could be wrong? also how do I check if the timing is correct without the car running? And howdo I checked tosee if th belt may have jumped some teet somehow? any help will be greatly apprieciated and to whomevr gets me the correct info to get it started a cash reward is in your favor please help i need it running asap!!!

Did you check if timing belt is broken? If its broken the engine will crank real fast, usually. Check ECU error code.

I havent been able to check if the belt is broken, Is there an easier way than removing the belt cover to check it? I do know that the car is'nt throwing me a CEL, Im not sure if it would or not though Im fairly new to the toyota world. Ill try using the diagnostic port and see if it throws anything anyway. The engine doesnt seem to crank much faster than it normally did, It does however spin easier it seems, and doesnt seem like there is much resistance when its topping out in a compression stroke if you can understand what im trying to get at...

Remove dissy cap. Crank the engine with someone watching the dissy rotor turn. If it crank and rotor doesn't turn, you got broken belt. Don't worry about engine damage, the 5S is non-interference.
Since you can't start the engine you won't notice check engine light. You can still pull the code but check timing belt first. You just need to losen a few bolts on the top cover to look inside.

I had a fuse go under the dash in my 87 that prevented the engine from starting even though the engine would turn over just fine. Just a thought.....

Finally got to checking to see if my belt was broken and it was dizzy would'nt spin, Pulled off the timing cover and gave it a yank looked and it was torn and missing a little chunk of belt as well. I replaced it but sadly am still trying to get my timing right, It runs, But has no balls and it revvs slow as shit under no load like seriousy it will take 5 seconds to get up around 5k rpm range and can't even pull itself out of the driveway in reverse. OH FUN!!
