Hey people I'm new to this site. I been searching the net looking for any performance upgrades for my 92 Celica GT. I know theres not a lot of parts out there from what I read but somebody should know somebody that know something about it lol. Anyways I dont have the money for a Alltrac or the engine swap. So if anyone know of any websites they can link it would be appreciated
Save your money then if you don't have enough to swap. The 5s-fe has no hidden power that can be tapped with simple things like an intake or after market header. You would need to spend more than what a swap costs to realize decent all motor performance.
You could spend money on suspension, thats usually a fun thing to do.

yea thats one of the things I plan on doing with it and maybe a nice tailpipe....other than that I'm going to keep the body the way it is and keep the rims as well. I had a camry myself til a 18yr old ran a stop sign and i hit her. Big dummy lol
The important thing is, if she was hot... did you get her number?
Yeah it sucks we don't have engines that are simple to play with. If you are looking for a car to run around on the street and have fun well this isn't it. These cars are expensive to mod and when you finally do put a turbo on it for decent power you will just end up wanting more....
There is a nice thread over on Ctech about cams for the 5s-fe, coltcams and webcamshafts both make great regrinds for the 5s!

lol she looked like she was stoned plus she had her boyfriend on the passenger. He got out screaming I was going 60 I was like if I was doing 60 you would have died because I hit him dead on. She had to be high it was 3pm hot sunny day in FL, how you miss a sign on a empty road. Anyways I was thinking about getting a mr2 header and getting some turbo put in. If I do that how much do you think I would get out of it? I know some things about modding but not enough. Also I was thinking since I can use the same tranny if I swapped wouldn't most of those 3stge parts fit on the current engine? Lol if that made any since
hey i found this forum about boosting this engine up a little bit. I understood all of the parts listed but I need some feed back on how this would work. heres the link http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/ar...p/t-47919.html.
A turbo kit is doable but you won't see over 250 horsepower. I don't think it's worth it unless you get an AWESOME (emphasis on AWESOME) deal on everything.
The best 5s-fe setup is definately Pressure2's and he is making 235 horsepower and 275 lb/ft torque. That is the best 5s-fe turbo I have ever seen, and the most reliable. I have seen a lot of turboed 5s-fe's come and go though. Most last a few months.
Save your money, and buy something thats already turbo. With the economy the way it is you are wasting hardcore money on your Celica trying to make it faster, cause it just isn't easy at all to do.

i know its been awhile since i been on but i just found my old thread lol. anyways i was thinking of doin g a v6 swap instead. i know its been done. wouldnt that be a lot cheaper than doing the 3sgte swap?
Price depends on where you source your parts from. I would go with a 1mz-fe for sure. It is a nice light aluminum engine with some aftermarket available, plus most come with 200 hp and 200 lb feet stock. Tuning will be an issue, but a megasquirt setup should match up perfect with the stock sensors including the stock crank sensor. That would make for some easy tuning!

yea i price the motor its basically a grand less than the all trac. i can work with it im just looking for i good base enigine first b4 i go crazy......but yea that motor was the one i priced. since the celica is smaller and built for speed with this motor wouldnt it move a lil faster than a camry and lexus? just a wild guess. oh btw what the hell is a megasquirt lol sound like a porno term.
well according to Tony the tiger member of this site megasquirt sucks.....he was going to use it on his camry but ended using aem. so what other kits are out there?
Well, yeah megasquirt can suck but it does what you need it to do. It's a standalone universal ecu that you build for the car you need it for and it will allow you to tune every aspect of the engine (from timing to ac compressor duty cycle) and then some. It is very challenging getting it to run if you have no help though. Since there are no other simple tuning options that are significantly cheaper than megasquirt (safc=sucks emanage=$$) it can be a good option if you think you can build a working unit and a custom wiring harness.
