celica not running

I recently bought a 1991 toyota celica with a 2200 engine that I was told only needed a fuel pump.Had the car towed home and ordered a fuel pump and the required gaskets. While waiting for parts I checked the compression and all four cylinders were at 150.Removed the distributor cap to find that the rotor was lose and one of the screws that held it on was backed all the way out and the distributor was full of oil.Removed plugs and got #1 piston on tdc with timing mark on front pulley on zero.Put on new rotor and marked position of distributor and rotor and removed distributor.Cleaned out the oil and replaced the rubber o ring on distributor shaft.Replaced dist. and installed new dist. cap, rotor, and spark plugs.Still had not recevied new pump so I figure what the heck and turned the ignition key and the engine ran first try.The only problem was noise coming from the alternator.Let the engine run for about five minutes, cut it off and restarted .It ran good for about 30 sec. then sounded like it was running out of gas.Replaced fuel pump and filter the next day but it won't quite run.I can hear the fuel pump running with the key turned on and engine sounds like it wants to run but won't quite ketch.I've done all I can do and out of ideas.need help

150 PSI across the board is OK. The distributor has a seal on the drive shaft, this is most likely leaking. It can be replaced by taking the drive coupling off and removing the shaft.

The engine just cranks or makes some effort to start? Recheck for ign spark at the plug wires.

I have got spark to the plugs but it doesn't seem to be as strong as it should be(not bright blue). The engine does make an effort to start. All fuses have been checked and are good but should there be a fuel pump relay as all I have is a jumper where the relay should go.There is a draw on the battery causing it to go dead overnight.I have pulled all the fuses but can't get the battery draw to go away.

Will try a new coil tomorrow.Would the coil cause a draw on the battery?
