so I just looked at a 88 gts with 83k for $1900. everything on the car seemed good, except the adjustable steering column. it only locked in the lowest posistion, i could move it up and down but it wouldn't lock in place unless it was all the way down. Is this common? Does anyony know what needs to be done. Obviously it can be fixed, I just have to take it apart and figure it out. It's probably just one little piece thats busted or out of place. But, I would like some details, cause if I have to replace the entire steering column assembly It's gonna affect my offer. oh yeah I'm 6'4" so I can't just deal with it.

nice link for st162.com. I'm all signed up just got to wait for the authorization. Unfortunately I got to make up my mind today cause the seller is goin to jail thursday, thats the reason he's sellin the car. He's askin $1900 the bluebook on the car in it's current condition is $1800 and the steering column pisses me off cuz that car will be so uncomfortable til it's fixed. All this considered I'm gonna offer $1600 cash. I'd feel comfortable payin that considering I couldn't get a civic with twice as many miles for that price. Does that seem like a reasonable offer?

I have the same car its a nice ride make sure you release the lower lock arm first right below the stearing wheal.and then do the one to the left.
