5sfe to 3sfe swap in 92 Celica

Hey guys, I swapped out a 5SFE for a JDM 3SFE and without going into too much detail I am hoping you can help me with a couple of issues i am having..

1. For some reason now that the car is all back together, when I turn the key, the starter will not engauge. When I turn the key, the dash lights all come on, I can hear the fuel pump start, and everything "acts" normal, but it just won't engauge the starter. After the initial swap out, the 3sfe engine started and ran just fine. I decided that I wanted to put a new clutch in so I pulled the transaxle, installed the new clutch and put it back together. Since then I can not get the starter to engauge. I am guessing it might be the clutch start switch down under the pedal but I am not sure. All fuses seem good and all electrical is working.

2. Since I put the new engine in, when I turn the key the temperature gauge slowly rises to the max and stays there. When I did the swap out of engines, I xfered all the sensors from the old to the new engine including the temperature sensors. I even tried a new sensor and it still acts like this. I can always install and aftermarket gauge but would rather just get the stock one working. Any ideas?

Thanks guys!!!
