01 rough idle, car stalls

hey new here, asking for a friend of mine

she has an 01 celica, automatic. she says when she starts it the car idles rough and when she goes to drive off it initally has no power and it hesitates. stated that is it worse in warmer weather. she said plugs and wires were recently changed and she ran some injector cleaner through it.

now i am handy with cars, but no nothing about celica's. just trying to help a friend out. any ideas?

thanks

Sounds like the cat may be plugged.

"Sometimes you can tell that a converter is clogged because you don't go any faster when you push the gas pedal. Also, there usually is a noticeable drop in gas mileage associated with a clogged catalytic converter. A partially clogged converter often acts like an engine governor, limiting the actual RPMs to a fast idle. A totally clogged converter causes the engine to quit after a few minutes because of all the increased exhaust back pressure.
The catalytic converter, like the rest of the emissions system, typically has a warranty length that exceeds the term of the warranty for the rest of a typical U.S. automobile."

Thanks. I didn't think of that, it makes sense. On top of that I just found out the check engine light is on. I'll have to stop at autozone and get it checked out. I bet that is what that is all about too. I didn't know the cats were covered under warranty.
