Sluggish at low RPM

Hey Folks,

Just replaced my timing belt on a 5sfe but the problem now is, it’s sluggish at low RPM’s. Is it possible that it skipped a tooth. I made sure that the TDC is correct. It feels like turbo lag but without the turbo. Should I advance the timing? Any help would be great.

Eek, you might just be off by a tooth. Back in the day I had a turbo Talon, and when the t-belt skipped a tooth the symptoms were similar to those you're describing. Have you re-checked your timing?

Sorry for getting back late.

Yes it did start but did not idle good. I found that I skipped a tooth when replacing the timing belt.
