4th Generation 3SGE Performance Headers??

Does anybody know if 3SGE Performance Headers fit into a 89' GTS (3SGE motor)?? I have one sourced out but wanted to make sure it was a true fit, I've been getting mixed results researching the difference between a GT/ST/GTS models - (relevant to the exhaust location)

If the performance headers are for the 86-89 GTS then yes. It's the same motor, 3SGE to 3SGE. If it was for the 2nd gen 3SGE, then I believe it should fit as but I'm not 100% sure.

THe GT/ST uses a 3S-FE motor which is different from the GT-S 3SGE.

If you're talking about the OBX, no it's not a direct fit. There are no direct fit headers for our 1st gen 3SGE (86-89). The OBX is a direct fit for the 3SFE, but you have to do the starter relocation exercise on our 3SGE engines before that header will fit.

Our 3SGE exhaust manifold is more of a header design, anyway, but if you really want more, you'll have to go custom. Just FYI, I did a back-pressure test at the CAT and only had 2-3 psi. In other words, there's not much restriction in the current system, which is probably why no one bothered w/ a AM header specific for our engine.
