1990 Celica's flashers-turn signals not working

I have a 1990 Celica ST coupe. The left flasher started to go at double speed, and when I was changing the bulb, there was a small spark and then the flashers, front and back, died for good.
The headlights, hazards and running lights still work.

I checked all the fuses I could find in the engine compartment, but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas what's gone wrong?

thanks

You checked all the fuses including the Turn signal fuse? There may be a fuse box behind the drivers side dash, about where you left knee would be, also drivers side kick panel.

Try www.autozone.com for location info, the site has a good self help repair section.

Find and replace the trun signal flasher, might be behind the drivers side kick panel.

thanks - I found the second fuse panel, and sure enough, the turn signal 10 amp was fried. However, I still have the problem of the left signal flashing too quickly - so the next question is: bulb socket or relay?

thanks
