Any help with a slight problem ?

Hi there,

firstly I must apologise for my lack of car knowledge before I go any further. I myself am not a driver and my wife is and this is partly the reason why I am not an expert.

We have a 2004 Toyota Celica and have been very pleased with it since buying it in 2006. We have in the last day become aware of a slight problem. When we were in the car yesterday and taking our grandson out of the car seat, we had the doors open and it started making a beeping sound from the dashboard but could not see any lights lit. It did this a few times and didn't think anything else of it. Then last night when the car was parked up in the drive, a neighbour said he could hear clicking noises from within the car. Checked everything and could not find anything wrong. Then when a relative visited they said the cars headlights had flashed as though the alarm was being activated. Again checked and no problem and car was locked ok. The last thing we noticed was that the rear light had come on for a few seconds when looking at the car out of the window. Again checked and couldn't find a problem.

Does anyone with a Celica know what the problem is and if it is anything to worry about. We have temporarily misplaced the manual so cannot consult this at the moment. Any advice and help would be appreciated.

Thank you - Mikey

If you havnt replaced the battery recently it would be a good starting point or at least to have it checked (usually free) by an auto elctrical shop, these modern cars require batteries in top condition otherwise they can start doing strange things, whilst getting the battery checked the auto spark may have some clues?
