Gen5 too Slow!

Hey, I need some help on how to fix a sluggish 1992 5S-Fe Celica. It's turboed, but does not go as fast as I think it should (15.9 1/4 mile, not just bad driving) which makes me think that there is some kind of problem with the car or my set-up. I keep the air filter clean, new plugs (cold), keep oil changed, stay on top of basic stuff. Here's a list of what it has to help you get a sense of my frustration

Burien turbo kit running 11psi-bigger injectors, diff MAP sensor included-
Engine rebuilt with internals -Forged pistons & rings, bearings, bored engine 40 thou, Deck head 20 thou
titanium valve springs also for strength
Lightweight underdrive pulley
Removed A/C that wasn't working anyway, now have shorter belt & less strain
Port & Polished head

At a point where I need to get a different tuner car & use this as a daily driver, or keep going with it to make it faster. Bought an intercooler, need to get stand alone fuel mngmt or piggy-back to go over 14 lbs boost, but need to fix any & all problems beforehand. Much thanks for any help on this

Just get rid of the engine and part and go 3sgte. Gen2 or Gen3. This will make you happy. I wouldn't invest in your setup.

That's what I was thinking. I def do not want to spend anymore money on this car if it's not worth it. You mean engine swap or just a different celica all together? The latter sounds easier to me.

of course just getting a new car is easier than a swap.

Your setup sounds like it should be a lot faster considering its FWD Turbo. It could be many reasons why your car is not running faster, but you might want to check the turbo setup. Make sure you have a decent fuel controller.

The only thing for my fuel demand is 360cc injectors from the stock 213cc. What kind of fuel control would be best, fuel pressure regulator or stand alone fuel management, or something else? The only type of control that came with the turbo kit is the new MAP sensor which isn't for fuel.
I'm wondering if my engine work is not good for turbo - as far as compression is concerned, and I don't know what my compression ratio is now or what it should be for turbo. Whatever the prob is, I'd want to find out with out spending a lot more money on it, if that's possible.

A stand alone would be best, but if your on a budget then I guess the Fuel Pressure and pump could use an upgrade.

Ummm, don't invest in it more than you have aready. Just drive it and enjoy it instead of working on it and getting disappointed. If you really want to make power, swap. Even a swap (gen3, stock ecu is great to 320whp safely) you could get a powerfc (good standalone) which will not cost you at all, $800 new. Sard 800cc injectors 100-120 each plug and plug works great with powerfc also . The gen3 intake manifold is good to 350+whp, the fuel rail is better than gen2, turbo manifold is proven good to 500whp unless you want it to look good. Even gen3 with bolt on will get you pass 300whp mark easy. A little upgrade and new turbo can get you a long way with stock unopen motor. Save money, drive your 5sfe turbo, enjoy life and when it gives up, swap!
