you know you need an engine rebuild befor you do turbo
and go with the stock ecu with a turbo timer and a fuel pump out of a supra is most common
you can also go with supra fuel injectors

Y r u doing this? Turbo it if you like but why not just do a gen2 or gen3 swap? Gen3 with simple bolt on will get you pass 300+whp already with stock injecotrs, intake manifold, exhuast manifold and the stock ecu.

You will end up like this guy
too Slow!

You both might be the same guy with different username?????

lol wut. No. You don't need an engine rebuild before you turbocharge a car. If the engine is running fine without leaks, then it's up to you if you want to mess with rebuilding it before you turbo it. Personally, i wouldn't break what's already fixed.

Turbo timer has NOTHING to do with actually turbo'ing a car.

Because a properly set up 5sfte will put down decent power, look at Presure2, or SuperShannon, and not to mention, it's WAY easier to set up a 5sfte than to swap in a Gen3 3sgte. A budget 5sfte ($1500 or less) should put down 220-250whp, 230-260wtq, and probably scare the crap out of your average Gen2 3sgte swap, which cost that guy twice the money. And if you blow up a 5sfe? Who cares. Go to the junkyard, grab another block, and have fun.

That being said..... he has a Rev1 5sfe. I wouldn't suggest running much boost on it, for lack of a knock sensor.

Didn't mean to go off on a tangent, but when people just off the bat say "OMG Don't DO THAT SWAP INSTEAD IT'LL BE KOOLZZZZ" it "grinds my gears" if you will. A proper gen3 swap is 3-4 times the financial investment of a 5sfte. And not for HUGE amounts more power gain.

It's all in what they want. He asked for what fuel pump and ECU to use.

Supra fuel pump, stock ECU. His questions are answered.
