What did i get myself into????

well, this is the story... I had a camry. but sold it to buy a celica. I've always loved the 1992 celica looking model(dont kno wat gen that is tho...) so I found one on criagslist. I don't kno much about cars so this is why I feel cheated. the guy was like that is a fully loaded 1992 gt. so I was all happy n stuff. it is also standard which was awesome, even tho at that moment I could'nt drive a stick. anyway, the guy said that the car had bad cv joints on the driver side. I was like whatever i'll get it fixed. I took it to my dads house to fix it together and what we saw was that the hub bearing was shot, completely missing, so we thought that's what was making the clicking sound, not the axle. so we replace the hub and the clicking was basically gone. but my dad siad to get a new axle anyway bcuz the threading was really bad. so I went to napa to get a new axle with my buddy. we asked for a 1992 celica gt driverside axle with no abs. when he brought out the axle I was like wtf bcuz the axle he brought out was half the thickness as the one I brought in. I was like damn, ok then bring me an st axle. he brought it out and it looked more like the one I had brought in. we took it home and to my surprise it wasn't goin in. I was pissed bcuz we went back to the store and it was closed and I had to go to werk. so my buddy said that he would take care of getting the right pisce 4 me while I worked. the next afternoon he called me that he fixed it for me. I was like wat did u do? he said what napa did was rebiuld the one we took in and he just popped it in for me. now these are my questions. what kind of celica do I have???and what is the clicking sound I hear when I drive??? if its not the axle or hub???sorry for rambling on, I just get caught in the moment when I explain thing like that. can anyone give their two cents???

Your VIN should tell you what type of Celica it is. Post it and I'm sure somebody here will be able to help.

Good luck!

Titles are issued by the state. They are pretty generic and often wrong. The VIN is your answer... IF somebody hasn't switched stuff out due to a collision, mod, or upgrade.

Yes post your VIN or check your engine. If it's a 5S-FE then it is a GT if its a 4A-FE then it's a ST.
