Hi all,

I own a year 2000 toyota celica. A few months ago the rear door started to make a very disturbing squeak. I sprayed oil-silica all over the joints and the disturbing sound disappeared.

This week the squeak is back again (most probably after the first rain washed away the protective coating). I sprayed agai but this time the squeak wont go!!! The problem is taht i cannot locate from where the sound is coming!!!

Any idea from where th sound could possibly be coming?

Hi CLV_083, I had same problem and sold car because first started rear door than everything sqeaking

including the belts. The rear door was squeaking from extender.

heya mate welcome to our forum ...... the problem you are having with the squek thing that is a common problem with all celicas infact in the US we had a national call back of all the celicas because it was a defect from the factory and they repalced them for free .
a friend of mine had a noise coming from the back but it wasnt the strats ...this time it was the rear suspansion which was defective ..which mind you very common with the toyatos in general . hope iuts not this casue to change they cost around 2500 \(dollars that is )
check the strats first maybe its nothing serious ..

the struts were actually changed two years ago and still look in good shape, at least they still hold the back door in place while it is open.

Thus the problem should not be coming from the struts.....

This squeak is driving me crazy..... what else could it be from your experiences?

The extenders are 1 year items. I changed them every single year.

The disturbing noise might be coming from the struts joint with the car body (the lower one not the one cnnected to the door).

Yesterday i greased it and the noise seems to have faded away. I will check it again later on today and confirm by tomorrow if it was them who caused this squeak.

Now that I remember once it was the seat that was squeaking too. But me seats were not good cuz I had fat girlfriends then bought anti squeak but squeak kept squeaking.Then I changed car and even girlf friend
