Ok, now I know there are alot of posts about the swap and i've looked through them... a few times. I've gotten a million answers to my questions. But I just can't decide for my exact application.
I'm getting a 3S-GTE (not sure which one yet) and it's going to be built to hell, from the ground up. From bearings, to rods, to bore, stroke, pistons.. you get the idea. I'm going to run as much boost as possible.. It's going to be a beast. Now the engine will all be top notch parts so I need to build everything else to fit that...
1. What should I do with my transmission. I have a 1998 Celica GT with 5S-FE and a 5-speed in it which is the car i'm swapping it into. Should I keep my trans and build it or is there a trans that would be better. Remember, I don't know exacts on power but if the stock 3S-GTE has about 200 or so it's probably going to bump up to almost 400-500.
2. What should I do about axles? I know they'll need to be upgraded with this much power increase.
3. Suspension is a little issue.. I want the car to be a pretty damn tight suspension and sit a couple inches lower then stock so I can really hug the ground. It's going to be used as a track car. What should I do about that? Eibach makes springs but nothing else for my car. I need upgraded sway bars, the whole strut assembly.. the whole 9 yards.
4. Body kit and spoiler, any good companys? Not for looks really, for aerodynamics mostly.
5. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but, the 3S-GTE will bolt up to my existing motor mounts right? Also, my trans or an upgraded trans bolts right up to it right?
Please help me out on these questions because I can't find a definate answer to these questions.. I've searched for hours.
My questions are purely this car related. I don't need info on anything than this engine and my model toyota related. Anything purely mechanical I can do. I work at a performance shop so no problem with the general stuff.
Thank you for any help. I had another topic but didn't get much help.
Also, if anyone has any very detailed specs or knows where some are on the 3S-GTE and the 5S-FE engines I would greatly appreciate that. I want to know what parts are interchangable (starter, alternator, A/C, ect.) so if you know that please let me know. Thank you again guys.

1) E153 out of the V6 Solara, V6 Camry, or MR2 Turbo. Or it is also possible to convert the awd transmission that should come with your swap to FWD only. You'll need MR2 inner axles, AllTrac outer axles.
2) See above, that setup SHOULD be fine. If not, Chico Raceworks makes upgraded axles.
3) Look around. There is tons of information on this. If you want THE best setup readily available, then you want Koni Yellows, with Ground Control coilovers setup with the spring rates you specify. Suspension Techniques and Whiteline both make sway bars.
4) There are no "body kits" that are going to affect the aerodynamics for this car in a positive way, to the best of my knowledge. Now, if you're looking for the "rice" look, then look into the invader kit. May be what you're looking for. As for a big wang off the back of your car, if you're looking to go 180mph or so, then go for it. I have no recommendations as to which one. (Bear in mind that there have been a few swaps, and AllTrac with completely stock bodies that have gone 160+ without spontaneously lifting off the ground. The AllTrac hit 180mph.)
5) The motor mounts are fine. If you use your S53 or S54 transmission, it's still fine. The E153 will require slight modification. There are probably 8-10 writeups on this modification at celicatech.com.

1. So which one would actually be stronger? I'm gonna guess the AWD since it's stock built to handle more power.
3. Ok so Koni.. Completely forgot about them. I have looked at alot of different companys and havn't found much. But i'll check Koni and those other two out...
4. So there seriously is no body kit or anything.. even just a front bumper.. that does ANYTHING to aerodynamics? Because yea, if possible I do plan on going 180 mph.. I plan on topping this car out alot... so it needs to STICK to the fucking ground. I also want traction. I know i'll have weight in the front and it'll be FWD but I need the rear to stick down too so it doesn't slide out during cornering. But anyways if anyone knows any companys that make body kits or spoilers for performance increase (not just a marketing sceme performance increase... real performance...) then let me know please.
5. And ok i'll check out that website.. So if I get the E153 trans it needs to be changed... What about the MR2 AWD trans? And any of those trans's bolt up to the 3S-GTE fine right? It's just the mounts that don't work?

They're all technically E153s... it's the same transmission. And ermmm... just to point out, the MR2 Turbo had the same motor.

Konis will run you about $800 shipped just for the struts.

Make your own. Hope you have access to a wind tunnel. You don't need it. Stock bodied Celicas have and will go 180. And where do you think you're going to be going 180mph often? If you do it on the street, i'll make sure to get in your way real quick in a bigass SUV.

You managed to get your hands on one of two AWD MR2 transmissions on this planet? Neato.
Look. Again. Read.
1) Alltrac/gt4 transmission. Will need modification to be used in FWD applications. There's a writeup on celicatech.com
2) Mr2 Turbo transmission. Will need modification to be used in FWD applications, but it's not a hard job, as it's already a mid engined transverse layout.
3) All E153 transmissions bolt up to the 3sgte. Considering it came with an E153 stock....
Sound like you got more research to do buddy. Probably about a year's worth.

Sounds like your going to rebuild the whole engine, so no use in going with the 3rd gen as the 2nd gen will do just fine if not better with the larger ports for my guess a larger turbo.

Agreed definitely, if you're just going to go standalone, convert to map, and run a large turbo.
Otherwise, the Gen3 is a far superior motor in almost every respect, besides the few and far between weak block.

I'm sorry... umm.. i'm not a toyota specific tech dude.. I know about cars, not toyotas. So i dont know what trans are in what.. sorry. But thank you for helping.
And I plan on using it as a track car... So I will be going very fast, I know the stock celica body is aerodynamic.. every car is.. But I want it to be idk... better. I'm sure even some of the cosmetic only kits would do something... I understand cars and I understand physics. You don't need a wind tunnel to roughly figure out what a kit would do... just a good brain to think about how the airflow will act.

Thanks guys.
You asked a question, i answered it. You're going to need to know about the transmissions, sorry.
As far as the body being better, you'll need to spend time in a wind tunnel. And let me know when you're going to see a track that you'll need it. Like.... 1000whp an nurburgring maybe. Just slap a big wing and front splitter on it.
