1993 celica 2.2 spark plug wires SNAFU

I took the wires off my distributor cap to replace the cap.
The wires fell out of the grip clip and got messed up.
Now, I don't know which cylinder numbers are which and cannot put the wires back.
Help me by telling me what the cylinder numbers are for the celica 2.2 5fge motor are.
I have heard that the numbers of the cylinders are from timing belt to distributor 1,2,3 4. Another mechanic told me that Number 1 is CLOSEST to distributor. A TOY dealership told me that i needed to get a Haynes or Chilton manual.

#1 is the one towards the front of the engine to the right side of the car. Firing order is 1342.
