Exclamation Celica 94 Error Code 12

I was able to break down the check engine and found out that the light has turn on because of Error Code 12. According to what I found error code 12 is do to trouble areas distributor circuit, distritutor, starter signal circuit.

Question: Does anyone know how to test these components?

Please advice.

Thanks to all those folks who read this thread. All replies are welcome

Are you haven't trouble starting the car? Is this a repeating code?

The only thing I recall about the distributor is checking the pickup coil, which should be around 140 to 180 ohms, and the ignition coil.

N.E.O.

Thanks for the reply. The car is not acting funny. It starts fine and drives fine too. So I thought it was a false reading so I disconnected the negative wire to the battery as well as removing the e15 fuse to reset the ECM. But the darn light came back again.

I will verify those coil reading...

Thanks. any other input will be useful
