Throttle Cable Issue..

I have a 1998 Celica GT, and its a 5speed.

The problem is.. randomly the throttle is hard to push in, and requires some force (usually at the worst times, like at a green light), also everytime I enable/disable cruise control it will buck a little.. unless I put my foot right above the throttle to "catch it".. and shifting is just getting worse and worse overtime because the throttle.. And yes I've taken apart and fully cleaned the throttle body. I think its the Throttle Cable, however I've tried adjusting it before and didn't get far with it.. It looks like its streched a little bit.. enough to cause a problem.. and theres no way to get all the slack out.. I was thinking of using a return spring, however I don't think that would work right with my situation.. My next step is to buy/replace the throttle cable.. now I'm wondering, do you think they still make the throttle cable for my car? its not available aftermarket, I'd probably have to go dealership... any thoughts?

Not up on Celica but typically on Toyota the throttle cable runs to the cruise control box first. Then another cable runs from the box to the throttle pulley.

If this is what you have, check for problems inside the cruise box or with the this cable.

Disconnect the cables one at a time to make sure that every one moving freely in its housing, they should move with minimal resistance.
