over trqed distributer

my friend over torqued his distributer so now it wobbles it moves in a concentric motion around its center and when torqued correctly it still has play in it

how do i fix this?
does he need a new distributer?

Sounds like he does need a different distributor, but how did he over torqued a distributor?

cant read a trq wrench we put it about 30 ft/lbs but it only needed 14

If the distributor is installed on the head properly, over torquing the hold down bolts wouldn't have make much difference. But if there is too much play in the shaft, a different distributor will be needed unless you have the one you have rebuid with new bushing, which may end up costing more.
