Gen5 1990 st

So i have a 1990 celica st, i just bought the car and its engine is blown. body is in perfect condition. I dont want to put the same engine into because its only around 103hp. I want a decently quick car but im not looking for a race car. So i was wondering what kind of engine would be best on a 2k budget.

This is my first toyota so im excited to get it started. Right now im driving a '91 civic hatch dx.

Stick with the Honda if you have a $2k budget. Way more better options.

Anyways.... What are your goals with the car? I saw your post on celicatech, and without knowing the goals, i think you got good advice there. Either 4age of some kind, or just another 4afe and make the car handle.

The car will be NO fun with a good engine attached to a crappy handling car. Balanced upgrades are key.
