98 Celica Audio System Question

I want to install an aftermarket head into my '98 Celica Convertible (amp bypass)

The problem is, I have an 8 speaker system, and I can't seem to find a harness that would match what's in my car. Anyone recognize this harness?

Ideally, I could just wire it myself without having to order a harness, so if anyone can find a diagram with what wire means what, that would be ideal.

harness

there's a special harness that comes with 2 rca ,are u planning to change the factory amp thats located behind the glov..box passenger side ,if yes u dont need no harness ,yellow /w stripe is power, brown is ignition and black is ground ,the only 3 u need , i dont think toyota ever change there colours ..

if u going change just radio u will need that harness ,there's a place in bridgeport ct that has that harness its called sounds good , located on park ave ..
however u will need to locate the factory amp if your car carries one ,if not just tap into the harness and u good to go...

if amp is present ,u will need a 9volt bat to touch the wires off the amp harness to see left from right , and front from rear... the harness is a bit tuff to realy get to ,careful not to damage it or else u f....

the colours changes due to some models come with jbl systems..

good luck ....

www.crutchfield.com should have any wiring harness you need.

www.the12volt.com will show you where the wires are so you can wire it yourself.

Hope that helps

2nd Generation

Thanks for the help!

I ended up ordering the:
Metra Toyota/Lexus Premium Amplifier Vehicle Harness (70-8112)

After some thinking I realized that the stock amplifier would probably be better suited to handle the 8 speakers, rather than having to "splice" them into the 4 channels the HU can provide.

I'll be sure to reference the the12volt site when I get the Harness in, Thanks a lot.
