Gen5 power to weight

i think the celica with a four cylinder is allmoast a perfect power to weight combo there is the 3.0 out of the camry but that one is kindov a dog with i think a stock 170? then theyrs the 3.4 yea its got balls about 190 hp but its a tacoma motor and idk if any of them would fit under the hood of a celica?

i wouldnt mind finding out if the new 2.4 camry engine would fit along with all thowse readly avaliable trd upgrades

You will love a 1mz swap, they are lighter than a complete 3sgte swap and the power is better. No chance of twin turboing unless you have some serious engineering skills, no need either really.

Check out the v6 MR2 boards and look around at videos of v6 swapped MR2s, the owners love their new engines.

1mzfe 3.0 litre V6 weighs within 40lbs of a 5sfe 2.2 litre 4-banger. 5sfe makes 135hp and is dog sh*t slow in a Celiac. The 1mzfe can be had with up to 210hp/222lbs tq, the 2mzfe 200/180, and the 3mzfe 225/240. None of these three motors will upset the balance any significant amount.

Any MZ or VZ-series V6 will fit under the hood of a celica, and there are write ups out there on how to do it.

The 2azfe (2.4 camry motor you're talking about) will FIT, but i dont think anyone has done it yet.

As a note the 3vz-fe is a closed deck iron block, damn thing weighs over 500 lbs!

And it's also bulletproof as hell. If you think a 5sfe is a light motor, you got another think coming. :P

A 3vzfe won't upset the balance a horrible amount either.... weighs less than 200lbs more than a 5sfe.

The V6 isn't lighter, no... but it's not a weight difference big enough to really worry about it.

Yeah the 5s is an iron block engine, the 1mz is fully aluminum so its not too much heavier at all, and lighter than a 3sgte swap

Every 5sfe ever made is iron block.

RAV4 never came with 5sfe.

RAV4 came with 3sfe, which most ebay sellers consider to be a bolt in "jdm" replacement for the 5sfe.

Yeah... it bolts in... but it's smaller and weaker.
