Weak throttle, moisture dependent

Long time listener, first time caller...
I just spent my break replacing my water pump, water pump seals tranny pan gasket, tranny filter, oil pan gasket, oil pump seals, corresponding fluid and spark plug wires. I got all my fluid levels adjusted and things seemed to check out alright. On my drive south I began to notice a loss of throttle power. Whenever I pressed, I got a weak response and a bit of engine knock. It was more a physical knock then a sound. It was really bad when it rained.
So today I replaced the distributor cap and it is extremely dry outside. I used some electric spray to try and clean out any moisture. The throttle is still weak. I really don't want to replace the ignition coil and distributor, but I am feeling that is my problem. Any other advice? Could my timing be off 1 or two teeth? The car idles fine, and isn't misfiring. I'm just knocking around ideas. Thanks!
