Need A 5sfe And A Question

HEY GUYS I NEED A 5SFE BAD, I EITHER NEED A NEW SHORT BLOCK OR A WHOLE NEW MOTOR, IT CAN BE USED IT CAN BE WHAT EVER I JUST NEED ONE CHEAP, I SEE MOTORS FOR 400 BUCKS BUT 300 DOLLARS IN SHIPPING, SO THATS TOO MUCH. IF ANYONE ONE IS IN THE NEW ENGLAND AREA SELLING A 5SFE COMPLETE BLOCK OR WHOLE ENGINE LET ME KNOW.

ok heres my question: my 91 celica gt has a reallly bad knock in the motor it started out as a spun bearing and progressivly got really bad. i know the crank and bearings are shot, so do u think i could buy a new crank shaft thats comes with all the rod bearings and be fine? or do u think my cylinder walls are messed up and do u think i would need new rods?

becuase if all i need is the crank and bearings i could buy that and install themm for a hell of a lot cheper then buying a new motor or block.

the help either way is appreciated

I'm sure your crank is fine. The 5sfe crank will survive an atom bomb.

You'll need your block honed, should probably get new pistons and rods.

I"m telling you the crank is fine. SR20 crank is a weak pos compared to 5sfe crank.

What you're hearing is severe ROD knock. So your RODS are screwed. More than likely your rod bolts let go on a cylinder or two.

i got a place

theres a place called (Advanced Forign Auto) in sekonk mass he deals with nothing but toyotas ive looked around and the 5sfe is a rare find in his yard (i have his number in my car ill give you it tomorro morning) even if he dosent have one he prolly knows someone who does

IVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 91 this is my second REPLACEMENT and it has a rod knock the first two both had rod bearing failure witch turned out ugly conceler is right the rods are prolly junk by now

i would suggest replaceing the rod bearings and oil pump on your replacement before you put it in

I got a 5sfe block and head I just pulled out. The head is in good shape but the rings are a little worn. It will burn oil (not too much) i replaced it with a re-maned.

Let me know if you're interested. I'm in Idaho. I'd sell it for dirt cheap.

TOYOTA ANTION 5SFE block

If the block is available and fits 91 CELICA I would like to buy it.
