1996 toyota curren 3sfe overhaul

currently i own a 1996 toyota curren 3sfe (jdm) and i am looking to pull more stride from my ride, i need ideas as the 3sfe is a hard engine to modify. i have some ideas like a 2.25 exhaust, hks apollo cold air intake, iridium plugs and cables, 4age valve springs coupled with a lumpy cam, removeing the cat, trd thermostat. so yea i would appreciate any help and smart ideas. by the way i am not intersted in changeing the aspiration or nitros, reliability is a huge factor.

You aren't going to get much out of that motor.

Might want to look into putting a 5sfe bottom end in there for a cheap upgrade. Otherwise, i'd honestly just swap it to 3sge if you're looking for more power, but still reliable.
