HELP! Need to know stock tire size

I have a 1982 Celica GT liftback. If anyone can tell me the proper stock tire size I would be EXTREMELY grateful. The sticker has worn off on the door, and what's on there now is 195/60/14, but I have receipts that say 225/60/14, and I can only tirerack.com has said 185/70/14, firestone said the same, but it said GT-S. So I'm confused to high heaven here. Please help.

Stock tire size for the '82 GT was 185/70/14.
The GTS was had much wider tires, same as the Supra; 225/60/14 sounds right, but it's been years since I had my GTS rims so I'm not 100% sure anymore. A lot of guys, like myself, put the bigger GTS rims on the GT; they're interchangeable.

Do you have the GT or GTS rims? That makes all the difference. Examples on the links below.

1) GT rims (steel):

2) GT rims (alloy):

3) GTS rims (alloy):

Well, not that I know I have the GT-S rims, does that mean I need to get the 225/60/14, or can I get the 185/70/14, but I may keep the 195/60/14, as they're $1 cheaper each over the 185/70/14, and will come with a directional tread design (Barum Baruvis). If I can go that route I'd prefer to, since I can't find an 225/60/14 for an less than $95 a piece.

All of those tyres will fit the GT-S rim.
All of them also have the same outside diameter.
So which tyre you fancy out of those 3 will be fine.

The 225/60R14 tyre isthe best but it is getting much harder to find, you may have trouble replacing it in the future.
I would get the 225 tyres (if possible) and when a pair are worn out, put 205/60R14 on the front and then latter 205 all round (195 works equally well as my favourite size of 205 but I like how the 205 look).

Also, make sure you have the body width for the 225 tyres.
The GT-S body has flares becuase the rims and wide tyres stick out futher than the tyres on the GT.
The tyre shop can confirm if you have enough body width for 225 tyres or if you have to stay with 195 or 185.
