clutch rattle on cold starts?

Hey guys, on really cold days when its 35 degrees or less, i notice that when i start my car first thing in the morning it sounds like my clutch is rattling or something is vibrating. When i press the clutch in though, the rattle goes away.Could this noise be my clutch rattling, or is it something else? Once that car has warmed up it doesnt make the rattle anymore. Any ideas?

And also, i notice that if i hold the clutch pedal down for over 5 seconds or so, i lose pedal pressure. When i depress the clutch the engagement point is very close to the floor and the pedal wants to stay to the floor. What do you guys think that could be?

Bad clutch slave or master cylinder.

Ive been thinking that its the master cylinder since the noise seems to be coming from that area. What is making that rattling noise though, and why only when its less than 35 degrees?

Rattling noise could be anything. Metal contracts when it's cold. You should hear my mechanically sound car starting in -20F weather.

It COULD be your throwout bearing, but the fact that it goes away kindof makes me think it's not that.
